Maverick Track Camps

2023 Summer Distance Overnight Camp

Join the Mavericks for our second annual Cross Country Camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Gain an exclusive look at the life of a MSU student-athlete as you live and train at our beautiful campus and stunning facilities in southern Minnesota.

Overnight campers will learn daily from experienced coaches, All-Americans, and Conference Champions. Deepen your knowledge of the sport, develop new physical and mental skills, and take your distance training to the next level. Build friendships, grow leadership capabilities, and recharge from training with fun team building activities. Let us show you how we cultivate the best of both worlds!

High school students of all abilities are welcome. Training will be adapted to specific needs, supported by knowledgeable coaches and skilled Certified Athletic Trainers.

July 24th - 27th
Grades: 9th - 12th Only, Boys & Girls
Time: 9:00am Monday - 3:00pm Thursday
Cost: $425 per athlete
Space is limited to 40 participants; register early!

Registration fee includes dri-fit shirt, camp notebook, lodging in campus dorms, and three meals a day.

Camp Features:
Athletes will leave Maverick Cross Country Camp with tools to grow physically and mentally. Campers will receive:

  • Custom training log and camp notebook
  • Guidance in proper training methods
  • Participation in drills and cross training to aid in skill development
  • Instruction on a wide range of training topics, including sport psychology, proper fueling, injury prevention, shoe science, and more
  • Exercises in leadership and teamwork
  • Opportunities to work one-on-one with coaches and MSU student-athletes
  • Mentorship from college runners on the recruiting process and longevity in the sport
  • Support, encouragement, and motivation from camp coaches and staff

What to Bring:

  • Campers should bring workout clothes, running shoes, water bottle, suncreeen, toiletries, swimsuit, snack food, and spending money.
  • Room Key Deposit: Overnight campers must bring a check to camp written out to MSU Track & Field for $50.00. These will be returned at the end of camp if the camper does not lose their room key.

Where to Meet:

  • Cross Country camper check-in and drop off is 9:00-9:30am on Monday at Crawford Residence Community dorms [710 Maywood Ave]. Use Lot 14 (see linked map).
  • Camper check out and pick up is at 3:00pm on Thursday at Myers Field House [Stadium Rd, between Warren St and Ellis Ave]. Camp will conclude with a brief award ceremony at 2:45pm, which parents/guardians are welcome to attend. Use Lot 5 or 7 View Map (PDF)
